Spring Musical 2017-Updates and Information #1

Hello Musical Families!
We had a very fun and productive first rehearsal on Thursday. There were almost 100 students there, which means there are a few logistical aspects of putting on the play that will require everyone's assistance.

I'd just like to fill you in on a few important details and reminders to make sure we will have a successful Musical season this spring.
1. Registration: Currently, this information has only been emailed out to those that have registered their child for this year's musical. If you have not already, please register your child for the musical HERE.

2. Snacks: One snack will be provided for students half-way through rehearsals (from 4:00-4:15). Students will need to bring their own snacks to eat in the hallway after-school before rehearsal begins (from 3:00-3:15).
We need all families to sign-up to help contribute to the group snack break at each rehearsal. Please stay tuned for a snack-sign-up form coming soon. If you are able to provide snacks for this Thursday's rehearsal, please email Chenoa Knight at chenoaknight@ymail.com

3. Water Bottles: Students will need to bring their own water bottles to rehearsals each week. Students are not allowed to go into the office and disrupt the office staff for a disposable cup after school. We were collectively very disruptive to the office staff this last Thursday and this cannot happen again. Please make sure your students have their own vessel for water at rehearsal each week.

4. Dismissal: please arrive to pick up your child by 5:10 so that you can hear any announcements that need to be made and help clean up the auditorium. If we all take accountability for our students and ourselves, the clean-up each week will be minimal. We will need to be out of the auditorium by 5:25 each week, as I have another engagement across town at 6:00 each Thursday.

*IF you are going to be later than 5:15, you MUST call or text me by that time so that I can plan accordingly. My phone number is 253-686-8159.

5. Volunteering: With 100 students in this Musical, we will most definitely need some help on this project. There are MANY ways to help volunteer with the Musical, including attending rehearsals and helping to wrangle and guide students, facilitate those that would like to do backstage or tech help, or provide snacks; also outside of rehearsals we will need help with designing and creating animal costumes for each student, helping with the set design and creation, communicating each week with parents, etc. If you are able to help out with any of these important jobs or more, please contact Leticia George at leticia.rlgeorge@yahoo.com.br

6. Backstage Students: Students younger than the 4th grade will not be able to help with backstage/tech without being accompanied by a parent at rehearsal each week. There are just too many students and unless we have a parent willing to take on leading and managing all of the backstage/tech students, the littles add too much pressure to the older students who are capable of self-managing.

That is it for now. Please email me or Mo if you have questions.

Thank you all so much! This is going to be another great production!

Cheers,
Caitlin
